Ikrah means forcing a person to do something he doesn’t want to do and doesn’t agree with, by threatening to kill or beat him.
There are two types of Ikrah:The first one is Ikrah Mulji, this is called coercion, that the person has no choice to avoid it, such as threatening to kill him.
The second is Ikrah Ghair Mulji. This means that he should not be threatened with death or mutilation, but should be threatened with imprisonment for a long time, etc.
This kind of Ikrah also strikes at the will of man, but because of his power of patience, he has the power not to do it.
In this article we discussed the effects of Ikrah on the actions of the obligee (Mukallaf).
