The Qurʼan, the holy book of Islam, is a rich and complex text that employs various linguistic structures to convey its message. One of the essential grammatical features of the Qurʼan is the genitive case, which plays a crucial role in understanding the text's meaning and context. This article will explore the function of the genitive case in the Qurʼan, examining its various forms, semantic roles, and pragmatic functions. The research conducts a comprehensive analysis of the forms and functions of the genitive case in Sūrat al-Jumuʿah, the 62nd chapter of the Holy Qurʼan, Through a comprehensive analysis of the surah's grammatical structures and semantic meanings, its aims to identify and classify the various forms of the genitive case, explore their syntactical and semantic functions, and discuss their implications for Qurʼanic exegesis and interpretation, employing a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses, to provide a nuanced understanding of the genitive case in the Sūrah. The findings of this research contribute to a deeper understanding of Qurʼanic grammar, semantics and linguistic, literary and theological features, highlighting the importance of genitive case in Qurʼanic studies, shedding new light on the linguistic and rhetorical features of the Qurʼan.
